Sams Technical Publishing Announces 1st Book
from Indy-Tech Publishing
Sams Technical Publishing, LLC, an offshoot
from the former Howard W. Sams Company, has announced the introduction
of their new publishing line, Indy-Tech Publishing, and the 1st
book from that imprint, The Savvy Guide to Home Theater.
Indy-Tech Publishing was created after the
acquisition of Sams Technical Publishing, LLC in 2003. "This new
imprint will have a 3-pronged focus," says Richard White, Chief
Operating Officer. "Indy-Tech Publishing is dedicated to producing
high-quality books for the savvy consumer, related to consumer electronics,
automotive technology, and Indiana-based authors. These books will
fill a niche in the market for the consumer who understands the
technology, but needs a little help in making the most of it."
The Savvy Guide to Home Theater, is designed
to help the savvy consumer, who either desires a home entertainment
system, or has begun the process of purchasing the components to
build one. Taking the reader through a series of steps, this book
will educate the reader on the technologies in the marketplace,
help to determine how the home theater system will be used, and
provide general recommendations in regards to component choices
as well as wiring options.
Sams Technical Publishing, LLC came into
existence in 2000 after the assets of Howard W. Sams & Company were
sold to California-based catalog publisher, and the book publishing
division was spun-off to become Sams Technical Publishing. Sams
has a long history of publishing, dating back to 1946, with books
ranging from The Joy of Cooking, to books related to computer and
electronics titles. The Howard W. Sams Company was founded on the
creation of PHOTOFACT, repair schematics for electronics repair
in 1946, and that product is still published today. Sams Technical
Publishing has a long and proud history, and is excited to once
again be publishing books.
