ESTA events focus on energy in buildings (1/4/2005)

Schneider Electric will sponsor a series of six free ESTA (Energy Systems Trade Association) regional events this spring. The events will focus on Climate Change, especially in light of the EU Directive, The Energy Performance of Buildings, that will come into force in early 2006. Through its new Transparent Building Integrated Systems (T-BIS) offer, Schneider Electric enables buildings to be intelligent while at the same time addressing these issues.

The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive will force organisations to improve the energy efficiency of their buildings in order to reduce carbon emissions from buildings by 22%. Speaking at the ESTA events, Richard Hipkiss, of Schneider Electric's T-BIS offer, will highlight the importance of management and control in achieving energy efficiency. "Information is critical to understanding where energy is utilised, but without management of that information and the implementation of control, it is of little worth," he explains. "Integrated solutions and simple management solutions represent the missing link when looking to conserve energy."

The conference will be complemented by a Schneider Electric Energy Clinic, in which delegates can discover the simplicity of integrating information and control, and find out how to implement intelligent energy management solutions alongside Building Management Systems, Lighting control and other building functions. In addition, the exhibition will highlight the available technologies, systems and services for improving the operation and management of buildings.
