Access Devices Digital Announces Early PVR Launch
(23/3/2005)
Access Devices, Inc.'s (Pink Sheets:ACDJ)
(www.accessdevices.co.uk) London-based subsidiary, Access Devices
Digital Limited, developer of DVB (Digital Video Broadcast) and
IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) set-top boxes, announces the
launch of its Personal Video Recorder (PVR).
Personal Video Recorder Launch Brought Forward
Access Devices Digital's accelerated product
development programme has reduced the time to market for its new
PVR product -- now set for UK and European launch in June 2005.
The global market for PVRs is growing rapidly,
with triple-digit year-on-year growth.
Access Devices Digital's PVR builds on the
company's well-established reputation for innovation, quality and
reliability -- with the lowest returns in the industry.
-- This is the first UK single-tuner PVR
to offer simultaneous 'play and record' -- a highly desirable feature
for users.
-- The PVR is available with and without a conditional access card
slot (for subscribers to premium content channels), and is offered
in UK and European variants.
-- The PVR is available in a number of design styles to facilitate
'exclusive' sale under multiple brands.
-- Two launch customers have been signed for the first UK and European
deployments.
-- Expressions of interest have been received from further key UK
and international brands and retailers.
United Kingdom
-- Access Devices Digital continues to successfully
supply white label DVB-T set-top boxes direct to the largest UK
and European electrical retailers and supermarkets.
-- The company provides products to large global brands for sale
through their own channels, with expressions of interest continuing
to arrive from potential customers.
-- Returns of Access Devices Digital products are among the lowest
recorded in this industry and continue to strengthen the company's
competitive advantage and perception with key buyers.
Europe
-- The first European orders for the company's
DVB-T set-top boxes have been accepted.
-- Distribution under a major international brand is set to start
in Finland in Q2 2005.
-- An Alliance Agreement for French, Italian, Spanish, German and
Scandinavian distribution is to be signed this quarter with a major
international partner.
