NetStreams Offers Additional Features for DigiLinX
Multi-Room Audio System (22/2/2005)
IP-based Networked Audio Entertainment System
Offers New Options for Home Security and Customized Zone Listening
NetStreams, the leader in IP-based Networked
Audio/Video distribution, continues to set the path for the future
of digital home entertainment with the newest upgrades for its revolutionary
DigiLinX system. The company released the latest version of its
DigiLinX Dealer Setup Program (version 1.34) to authorized DigiLinX
dealers. The new version, which includes firmware upgrades for all
DigiLinX components, allows integration of Panasonic(R) IP-based security
cameras, and gives installers new zone-grouping options for customized
listening and control. DigiLinX's upgradeable firmware makes the
system uniquely future-proof, as it lets NetStreams immediately
implement new functions in response to third-party product launches
and emerging installer needs.
"We designed DigiLinX to offer the best investment
in whole-house entertainment, using architecture that easily shifts
and expands with consumers' needs," said Herman Cardenas, founder
and CEO of NetStreams. "By simply connecting a computer and loading
the firmware, our authorized DigiLinX dealers can update the system
before, during, or after installation, ensuring complete integration
with the newest products in a customer's home. This, in addition
to such advantages as DigiLinX's ability to integrate a virtually
infinite number of sources and listening zones, puts its function
well beyond that of traditional audio distribution systems."
NetStreams' newest DigiLinX firmware expands
the system's function beyond entertainment. Its TouchLinX(TM) in-wall
keypads feature an LCD touch screen that not only provides system
control, but can now display video feed from Panasonic's new IP-based
security cameras (models KX-HCM10 and KX-HCM280). Users can watch
up to four video feeds simultaneously on one screen, and can toggle
between full and split screen at will. Integrating the cameras with
DigiLinX requires configuring the system using the DigiLinX Dealer
Setup Program version 1.34.
Another highlight of the new firmware upgrade
is "Zone-Grouping." This lets installers designate and name particular
groups of rooms or listening zones for homeowners to activate at
any time. For example, an installer could select the speakers in
the family room, living room, dining room, and kitchen, and name
the group "Party." Then, when the customer has guests, they can
activate the preprogrammed "Party" group to play music only in those
rooms, and to simultaneously control the sound in the rooms.
NetStreams' authorized DigiLinX dealers can
download the latest version of the DigiLinX Dealer Setup Program,
which includes the new firmware upgrade, from the dealer section
of the company's website.
