TRIBUTARIES Debuts New High-Performance SP4BW Silver BiWire Speaker Cable for Home Theater and High-End Stereo (8/2/2005)

To provide maximum sound quality for todayâs high performance loudspeakers, TRIBUTARIES(R) presents the SP4BW Silver BiWire Speaker Cable. Based on the extremely successful TRIBUTARIES(R) SP4 Silver Speaker Wire, the SP4BW Silver BiWire Cable is an ultra-flexible bi-wire, containing two multi-stranded 12 gauge and two multi-stranded 14 gauge conductors within a pressure extruded dark blue PVC jacket surrounded by a high-tech mesh. The conductors have been designed for different purposes ö 14 gauge for tweeters and 12 gauge for woofers. Half of the Oxygen-Free High Conductivity (OFHC) Copper strands within each conductor are plated with pure silver giving them better performance characteristics than copper alone. When stripped, this construction also gives each wire its unique ãcandy caneä appearance.

In a bi-wire design, the loudspeaker's connecting terminals are arranged for separate low frequency input and high frequency input. Individual low frequency and high frequency inputs provides an independent path for the audio signal to the appropriate segments of the loudspeaker's crossover. Powering these two segments separately, results in superior power handling, smoother frequency response, better bass response, and improved sound staging.

The two 12 gauge conductors at the speaker end are labeled "Low Pass" for easy connection directly to the low frequency speaker terminals. Also at the speaker end, the two 14 gauge conductors are labeled ãHigh Passä for easy connection to the mid/high speaker terminals. If a two wire connection is desired, two conductors can be combined for two 10 gauge conductors. To provide a smooth transition from the cable jacket to the heat shrink, each end is fitted with a rubber boot. Terminations are available in TRIBUTARIES(R) Banana Plugs or Spade Lugs.

TRIBUTARIES(R) SP4BW BiWire is available in stock lengths of 8 ft., 12 ft. and 16 ft. Suggested Retail Prices range from $300 for an 8 ft. pair with BP101, 102 or 103 Banana Plugs to $650 for a 16 ft. pair with DLT10 Locking Banana Plugs. Custom lengths are available.
