TRIBUTARIES Introduces a Solution for Interconnecting Devices with DVI (8/2/2005)

TRIBUTARIES(R) introduces a cable solution for interconnecting devices with Digital Visual Interface (DVI) connectors, which has been designed specifically for digital-only signals (DVI-D). TRIBUTARIES(R) DVI-D Cables are UL(R) listed and internally wired for "Dual Link" enabling the higher picture resolution requirements of HDTV (1920 x 1080) and QXGA (2048 x 1536).

The TRIBUTARIES(R) DVI-D Cable has a maximum bandwith capability of 2x165 MHz, enough to transport uncompressed video signals from a DVI-equipped source to a DVI-equipped display device. The TRIBUTARIES(R) DVI-D Cable supports a 24 bit data rate guaranteeing crystal clear, razor sharp images. Colors are vibrant and the detail is stunning.

The TRIBUTARIES(R) DVI-D Cable protects the delicate, pure digital signal with triple layered shielding and ferrite rings. There are two layers of 125% aluminum/Mylar(R) to protect against unwanted higher frequency radio frequency interference (RFI) and a copper braided shield for lower frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI). The use of a consistent diameter gas injected polyethylene dielectric provides the cable with consistent 100 ohm impedance. The overall cover is a highly flexible, black polyvinyl chloride (PVC) jacket that has a UL(R) CL2 certification. Two ferrite rings on each cable, one at either end, ensure protection from ingress of very high frequency interference as well as providing protection from cable emissions that could otherwise result from the digital signal's very high frequencies passing through the cable.

The TRIBUTARIES(R) DVI-D Cable is available, prepackaged in plastic Display Paks or individual ziplock bags, in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 meters. Suggested retail prices range from $60 for a 1-meter length to $240 for a 10-meter length.
