Record Attendance at Northern Sound and Vision 2005 (3/2/2005)

The Organisers of Northern Sound & Vision had a primary objective for 2005; to ensure that at the very least Northern Sound & Vision equalled it's attendance for 2004.

With so many other shows reporting considerable declines in attendance's this was set as the realistic priority. Not only was this achieved but beaten by nearly 10%, setting a new attendance record of 2050. Saturday was an absolute winner with visitors solid throughout the day and the average visitor stay extending itself to 4.5 hours proving that NS&V really did provide top value for it's exhibitors and visitors alike!

In addition to this there was a considerable increase in the age group 25 - 35, female attendance was up 7% and there was a record spread of interests groups with many visitors being commercial buyers and specifiers. Visitor loyalty represented 53% of total attendance. The organiser emphasises that the net visitor attendance's are and always have been 'actual' footfall through the show reception and this year did not include trade or VIP totals. " Whatever the temptation I have always reported the actual visitor figures - as to do otherwise is to chase your tail forever - says Roy Bird -"In any case good attendance's matter but more important is visitor quality with spending power.

The venue proved yet again to be a winner with excellent access by Plane, train or coach directly into the venue and cars were accommodated into a designated overspill carpark for 2005 serviced by a regular shuttle bus. Dates for next years have already been set as: 28-29 January 2006.

Within 24 hours of the show closing major exhibitors were rebooking their rooms for 2006, auguring well for another early sell out of space.
