Russound Complements Speakers With New Subs (1/2/2005)
Freestanding Models Can Be Easily Tuned For
Home Theater or Music
Russound, a leading manufacturer of multi-room
a/v products for the residential systems market, unveiled a new
line of active freestanding subwoofers. Named the Complement Series,
the three affordable models are designed for use in quality home
theater applications where a subwoofer is essential for lifelike
reproduction. The new Russound subwoofers are scheduled for delivery
in March 2005.
All three Complement models come in Satin
Black finish and feature Dual Tuning. Dual Tuning represents specially
designed dual ports that allow the listener to tailor the bass response
for either music or home theater. Model R12DT ($649 MAP) features
a 12" bass driver with 200 watt amplifier, R10DT ($449 MAP) a 10"
bass driver and 120 watts and the R8DT ($299 MAP) an 8" bass driver
and 60 watt amplifier. All accept either high or level inputs allowing
the Complement subs to be compatible with a wide range of source
equipment.
According to Ian Popken, Director of Product
Development for Russound, "Four out of five multi-room audio installations
have at least one room with a home theater. Therefore the need for
a subwoofer in home theater is essential and in many instances it
is more practical to utilize a freestanding model even when in-wall
or on-wall speakers are being used." Mr. Popken went on to add,
"Our new subs were also designed for versatility and are perfectly
suited for use with home hifi or in-wall loudspeakers to 'complement'
their bass response."
Along with Russound's award-winning line
of Multi-Room AV products, the new Complement Series of subwoofers
will be on display at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe (ISE)
Show, January 26-28, 2005. The Russound stand is # 4102.
