Russound Upgrades Power Amp Offerings (1/2/2005)

R-Series Multi-Channel Amplifiers Deliver Ultimate Performance, Durability

Russound, a leading manufacturer of multi-room a/v products for the residential systems market, unveiled a new line of four high performance multi-channel power amplifiers. The new R-Series amplifier range was designed by Russound engineers for high power output, stable performance, flexible application, great sound and exceptional value. The new Russound R-Series amplifiers will be available for delivery in March 2005.

At the top of the R-Series line, is the flagship R1250MC ($1499 MAP) delivering 50 watts times twelve channels, ideal for larger distributed audio systems. For somewhat smaller installations, the R850MC ($1099 MAP) offers 50 watts times eight channels. For applications requiring high current capability in a two channel amplifier, Russound offers the R275HC ($499 MAP) at a robust 75 watts per channel for dedicated high performance applications. Rounding out the range is the compact R235LS ($299 MAP) with 35 watts per channel and local source switching capability.

Explaining the company's new line of amplifiers, Russound's Director of Product Development Ian Popken stated, "The R-Series amplifiers were designed to satisfy a wide array of demanding applications from large multi-channel, multi-room audio systems to dedicated use in local and outdoor zones. First and foremost, they are quality engineered for a combination of trouble-free performance and excellent sound while delivering exceptional value."

The new Russound R-Series amplifiers provide an array of useful features such as bridged mode that allows for greatly increased power into a single channel as well as the flexibility to meet a wider variety of applications. All models also employ auto signal sensing inputs and independent channel gain controls, offering additional adjustment capability and simplified installation.

In particular, the R275HC provides a selectable low cut filter, designed to protect autoformer-based volume control and speaker selector systems. Additionally, the compact R235LS offers a useful Local Source feature, which provides automatic switching between a local source (i.e. PC or TV) and a multi-room audio system.

In addition, all of the new Russound amplifier models were designed with a slim profile for flexible placement and to save valuable rack or cabinet space. Models R1250MC, R850MC and R275HC are rack mountable, with rack mount ears (optional use) supplied at no charge.

The chassis of all Russound's R-Series amplifiers are richly finished in either satin black or silver. Elegant styling with innovative industrial design is by Cambridge Product Design, one of the world's leading industrial design firms.

R-Series Key Features:

Bridgeable- allows for greatly increased power into a single channel as well as the flexibility to meet a wider variety of applications.
Reliable and Robust- improved circuitry for stability under demanding loads to provide trouble-free performance and long term reliability.
Saves space- compact design (R1250MC, R235LS) provides slim profile to save rack or cabinet space while adding installation flexibility.

Along with Russound's award-winning line of Multi-Room AV products, the R-Series amplifiers will be on display at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), Show January 26-28, 2005. The Russound stand is # 4120.
