SpeakerCraft's New Surface Mounted Speaker Compliments All Flat Panel Displays (1/2/2005)

SLS Series features an extruded aluminium enclosure and unique driver configuration

SpeakerCraft, America's original manufacturer of in-wall speakers, announces two new surface mounted speakers designed for use with the myriad of flat panel displays that are changing the face of home cinema.

The Slim Line Surface mount speakers feature ported, extruded aluminium enclosures with solid wood baffles. Cutting edge engineering has allowed SpeakerCraft to create a surprising amount of bass response from long-excursion 3" drivers which reduce the overall footprint while maintaining incredible fidelity. The high frequencies are handled by a 1" aluminium anodised, pivoting dome tweeter, a feature that allows the installer to focus directional high frequencies toward the optimum listening position. A unique mounting system simplifies wiring and pre-installation. The speaker termination hides the wiring while still making it accessible after the speaker is mounted.

"We are very excited about the multiple applications for these speakers" said Dave Donald, Vice-president of Marketing. "The quality of sound from such small drivers is astounding. It allowed us to reduce the cabinet size and still provide the sonic performance SpeakerCraft is famous for."

"Although we believe that in-wall and in-ceiling speakers are superior in most situations, we understand the need for surface mounted product in specific applications" continued Donald, "Our dealers have expressed a need for products that fill this niche and we are proud to provide them with an elegant solution."

There are two models in the SLS series. The SLS One has two magnetically shielded long throw aluminium 3" woofers and a single 1" pivoting, anodised aluminium dome tweeter. The SLS Two features four woofers and a single pivoting dome tweeter. The speakers are timbre matched and are an ideal compliment for all flat panel video displays.
