RBH Announces Technical Upgrades and New Look to
Popular MC Theater Series (1/2/2005)
RBH Sound Inc. introduces sonic upgrades
and a complete visual redesign to their MC Theater Series lineup
of home theater speakers. Dubbed the MKII series, these redesigned
speakers take the already stellar sounding MC Theater Series and
turn it up a notch in performance and aesthetic appeal.
For dealers and consumers familiar with the
original MC Theater Series, the MKII aesthetic improvements are
immediately evident. The redesigned baffle and countersunk woofers
make for a much more attractive speaker when the grill is off and
hides the "mechanics" of the speaker such as the screws securing
the woofers to the cabinet. Beyond beautiful, the new Resonance
Damping Alloy Baffle(TM) (RDAB) functions to damp cabinet vibrations
and minimize tweeter diffraction.
Gone is the old swiveling tweeterÑin its
place is a newly designed tweeter utilizing a ceramic magnet that
offers superior power handling capabilities and better high frequency
extension. "At first our dealers where concerned about losing the
swiveling tweeter", stated Roger B. Hassing, president of RBH, "but
once they heard how well the redesigned speakers performed, and
how great they looked, all concerns were put to rest."
The new speakers still feature woofers made
of proprietary aluminum cone technologyÑthe same technology featured
on RBH's flagship products. The driver's inherent stiffness, low
mass and self-damping properties allow them to deliver crisp, clear
sound with immediacy and accuracy. The crossover networks have also
been revamped to accommodate the new design for a seamless integration
of all the drivers.
The MC Theater Series MKII line up of speakers
includes two bookshelves (MC-4C MKII, MC6C MKII), two center channel
speakers (MC-414 MKII, MC-616 MKII [new model]), a pair of towers
(MC-6CT MKII), and two subwoofers available either powered, or passive
(TS-10A, TS-12A). All speakers are available in an attractive black
oak veneer finish and are shipping now.
