A Blinding Success for Integration from Lutron (31/1/2005)
Following the blinding success of Sivoia
QED, Lutron Electronics Co. Inc., the world leader in lighting control,
has introduced an enhancement to its GRAFIK Eye 3000/4000 systems
to provide total wireless control and integration of window treatments,
projection screens and lighting.
Lutron's new Ethernet interface for GRAFIK
Eye 3000/4000 lighting control systems not only enables the seamless
integration of lights and blinds with AV touch screen control systems,
but offers the ideal solution for installations, such as boardrooms,
where a variety of different manufacturers products' need to communicate
through a single screen. The interface can be programmed to control
any combination of 1-8 GRAFIK Eye 3000/4000 units and counts as
one of 16 possible accessory controls. An RS232 interface is also
available, to ensure complete keypad communication.
The Ethernet interface enables users to select
or sequence lighting scenes, raise or lower one or more zones and
lock control units. Using the interface with GRAFIK Eye 3500 or
4500 series control units, an individual is able to control curtains
and blinds zones as well. The set-zone-intensity command also allows
users to select presets for an individual Sivoia QED electronic
drive unit.
Adam Lansing, International Manager, comments:
"Lutron's development of the Ethernet interface ensures that GRAFIK
Eye 3000 and 4000 systems offer users ultimate control of the lit
environment around them, as well as complete A/V integration. With
ease of use and speed of installation designed into this product
enhancement, the Ethernet interface looks set to be very popular
with end users and installers alike".
