IC INTRACOM Introduces Personal Cinema Surround Sound
Headset (21/1/2005)
Eight Speakers Deliver Rich Digital Audio
without Distortion
IC INTRACOM is introducing the MANHATTAN
Personal Cinema 5.1, a headset developed to enhance the experience
of video conferencing, playing games and watching DVDs on computers
by delivering rich, full Dolby Digital AC-3 or DTS 5.1 surround
sound with no distortion, even at high volumes.
The new Personal Cinema headset features
eight speakers, plus a vibration mode that accents the performance
of its two subwoofers. Built-in DTS decoding eliminates the need
for separate sound cards and outputs for each channel, making the
headset ideal for mobile computing. A detachable microphone is included
for interactive games and video conferencing.
"Once again, MANHATTAN emerges as the performance
leader, this time with an innovative audio product," said IC INTRACOM
Director of Global Marketing Ben Zupan. "Now our resellers will
be able to offer one of the best sounding computer headsets available
anywhere."
The Personal Cinema headset comes bundled
with WinDVD 5 and InterVideo WinRip 2 for DVD and audio playback.
A USB 5.1 external sound card, CD containing drivers and control
panel applications, neck strap and USB cable are also included in
the package. The MANHATTAN Personal Cinema Surround Sound Headset
(Model 173735) will be available in February 2005 at a manufacturer's
suggested retail price (MSRP) of $149.00 (US).
