Myryad joins Armour Home Electronics (22/12/2004)

Armour Home Electronics, part of Armour Group Plc, is pleased to announce that it has acquired the specialist British a/v and hi-fi electronics company Myryad Systems Ltd.

Glenn McClelland, Armour Home Electronics' Managing Director stated, "We wished to strengthen our offering to installers and specialist retailers, by adding an affordable, high quality electronics brand to our portfolio. Myryad fits this bill precisely and will become part of Armour Home Electronics alongside QED, Veda and Goldring."

He added, "I am confident the further investment and resources that we can add to Myryad's own renowned expertise will ensure an exciting and successful future for the brand."

Myryad production will continue at its plant near Portsmouth and won't affect Armour's current production schedules at their new facility in Woking.

However, in common with all other Armour Home Electronics products, the sales, distribution and marketing for all UK customers will now be handled by Armour (Veda) in Bishops Stortford. The Myryad range will feature in the next "Veda" catalogue, but of course will only be available to "Myryad Authorised Dealers".

When interviewed, Myryad's Chris Short said, "Everyone at Myryad is very excited about joining Armour, which is excellent news for the company."

He went on to say, "On a personal note, I'm very much looking forward to working in partnership with Armour Home Electronics to develop our dealer and distributor base with additional high quality outlets in both UK and overseas markets.
