Retailers stock up as global consumers look to NXT
this Christmas (15/12/2004)
This Christmas, consumers around the world will
be exposed to NXT-based products from a host of leading-edge manufacturers
as they hit the high streets in search of the perfect Christmas
gift. From televisions to audio accessories, NXT solutions are filling
the shelves of some of the world's most famous retail outlets.
Best Buy and Target, two of the USA's leading
consumer electronics retailers are stocking Sonic Impact's latest
generation of the now renowned SI-5 portable surround sound speakers
- the first truly portable audio system designed for use with CD
/ DVD players, notebook computers and MP3 players. Incorporating
NXT technology, the flat panel speakers are the perfect accompaniment
to the plethora of audio devices sure to be top of many peoples'
Christmas lists.
In the UK, major high street retailers including
John Lewis, Dixons, Currys and gadget specialist must have IT are
stocking TEAC's iconic MC-DX10 CD Tuner system, which is equipped
with two ultra-slim two NXT satellite speakers. Similarly, the multi-award
winning range of Philips Ambilight LCD TV's, which utilise NXT's
SurfaceSound technology, are being snapped up by shoppers wanting
the ultimate picture and sound quality to watch this year's Christmas
broadcast schedules. The globally acclaimed KIT 1000 Home Theatre
system from British audio manufacturer KEF is also featuring heavily
in UK specialist retail outlets ahead of what is expected to be
a strong sales period for this unique solution.
In continental Europe, German coffee specialist
and lifestyle retailer Tchibo is offering its' customers a 2.1 channel
multimedia system, featuring flat-panel NXT satellite speakers and
an active subwoofer. The Centrios-branded system is perfectly positioned
as an ideal gift solution, offering performance, styling and value
for money for PC, MP3 and other multimedia device users. The Tevion
5.1 channel surround sound system, which uses NXT flat panel satellite
speakers, is priced to entice consumers at Aldi, one of the world's
biggest grocery retailers. The system is perfect for use with PC's
to add sound quality and realism to games, entertainment and software
applications.
Well-known Australian retailers including
Dick Smith Powerhouse, The Good Guys and Harvey Norman are stocking
up on TDK's latest slimline CD system, the NX-02CD, in anticipation
of high consumer demand in the lead up to Christmas. The stylish
system has completely transparent NXT speakers either side of the
main unit, resulting in a unique, virtually invisible look. The
system follows hot on the heels of TDK's NX-03CD, recent winner
of Home Beautiful magazine's Home Technology Product of the Year
Award. Once again, TDK's phenomenally successful range of I'MASPEAKER
mono and stereo CD wallets - which, thanks to NXT's technology,
turns the portable CD case into a speaker - are sure to be popular
with gift buyers.
NXT CEO, David Pearson, comments, "NXT technology
is reaching an increasing number of global consumers each year,
and it's great to see major international retailers giving shoppers
access to more NXT-based products than ever before. Many of the
products that have come to market over the past 12 months featuring
NXT are truly revolutionary and are sure to feature on many consumers
Christmas wish lists this year."
