Airbee Displays First Wireless Thermostat (14/12/2004)
The ZigBee Alliance's Open House in Seoul, Korea,
featured the unveiling by Airbee (OTC Other: ABEW) today of the
industry's first ZigBee-ready thermostat and automated water timer
with Airbee-ZMAC(TM) software for unwired networking(TM). As a breakthrough
product for home and building automation, Airbee's pioneering technology
will significantly reduce the cost and time of installing home and
office environmental control systems.
Airbee showcased its intelligent embedded
software for wireless home automation networks using Rite Temp 8082
programmable thermostats. Airbee also demonstrated the versatility
and reliability of its embedded software in a Rite Time automated
water timer for optimized environmental monitoring and conservation
of natural resources.
"Smart homes today still have wires, but
Airbee's intelligent software will transform the smart home into
an intelligent, unwired home. The dawn of Life Unwired(TM) is now
here," said Srini Krishnamurthy, Airbee's vice president of business
development. "Once again, Airbee has proven that our intelligent
embedded software is platform independent, reliably interoperable
with different radios and microprocessors, and quick-to-deploy for
mass market applications like home environmental control systems."
Airbee's wireless networking solutions adhere
to the ZigBee specifications and represent one of the industry's
first hardware-independent software products. Airbee brings unique
software solutions with a ZigBee protocol stack that has the ability
to interface with any controller and any IEEE 802.15.4 radio solution.
This breakthrough approach is expected to be critical as the ZigBee
roll-out continues in commercial and home automation.
