Network Professionals Sought as Beta Testers for
the CompTIA Network+ Certification Upgrade (29/11/2004)
The Computing Technology Industry Association
(CompTIA) announced today that it is seeking experienced network
administrators and network support technicians to be beta testers
for the 2005 upgrade of the CompTIA Network+(R) certification. The
beta exam will be available beginning Monday, November 29. Initial
plans call for the beta exam testing period to be completed by December
31, 2004.
"Taking the time to sit for a beta exam is
increasingly becoming a way to give something important back to
the profession," said Kris Madura, CompTIA Network+ program manager.
"Beta exam takers validate the clarity and accuracy of exam questions
and have the opportunity of jotting down detailed insights, all
of which provide vital feedback during the final stage of certification
development. Passing the beta exam and earning the CompTIA Network+
certification is icing on the cake."
To encourage experienced professionals to
take the beta, CompTIA, in partnership with Pearson VUE and Thomson
Prometric, is making available exam vouchers free to the first 1,000
qualified volunteers who complete a pre-exam survey. Information
on the survey and enrolling for the beta exam can be found at the
CompTIA Network+ beta homepage (http://www.comptia.org/certification/Network/beta.aspx).
The beta exam is open to everyone interested in network administration
and support, including those who already hold the CompTIA Network+
certification.
Those interested in the beta exam are invited
to join CompTIA's Network+ Program Team to learn more about the
latest upgrades to the exam. Details will be presented during a
cybercast on December 1, at 2 p.m. US Central Time. To attend, please
send your name and email address to networkplus@comptia.org with
Network+ CyberCast in the subject line.
The Network+ certificate validates knowledge
mastery equivalent to 12 months of network administration and network
support experience. The exam covers best practices in media and
topologies, protocols and standards, network implementation, and
network support.
