* Offering state-of-the-art technology tailored to the needs of the Home Cinema user

NEC has today launched a new suite of advanced plasmas and projectors designed to bring new levels of performance and flexibility to the Home Cinema audience.

The range includes four High Definition plasmas, the 42" 42XR3, the 50" 50XR3 and 61" 61XR3, and a 42" VGA model, the 42VR5. NEC has also added to its Home Theatre projector line-up with two wide-screen DLP projectors: the HT410 and HT510.

Both the plasmas and projectors are equipped with an industry-leading range of connectivity options and can be used to show the latest high definition DVDs and favourite TV programmes in style, as well as offering an unbeatable display for super-size gaming. In addition, the new plasmas provide a wide viewing angle of 160¡ which ensures even the largest group of sport's fans can see the match.

Simeon Joseph, Product Manager for NEC's Visual Communications Division, commented: "We are seeing growing demand from consumers for professional level plasmas and projectors designed specifically for the home. Features such as image quality, colour reproduction, and connectivity are key differentiating factors and this suite offers the full package of functionality and style."

These maximise light efficiency, offering leading brightness to ensure the best possible viewing experience. In addition, the plasmas can be fine-tuned to maximise the image quickly from different inputs such as DVD, broadcast and gaming. Modifications can be saved ensuring the user can view all content at its optimum quality without resetting the screen each time.

To make the most of NEC's advanced technology, the plasmas can be displayed using the stylish new smoky-glass stand or fixed to the wall using a range of brackets. The screens also offer straightforward set-up with the menus and remote designed specifically with the Home Cinema user in mind.

All of the new models are available with an integrated tuner as an optional extra.

The NEC HT projectors deliver high resolution and leading image quality, making them an attractive option for consumers who want to bring the large-screen movie experience home. The HT410 has a native resolution of 852 x 480 pixels and the HT510 has a native resolution of 1024 x 578 for higher image quality.

The new slim-line design of the HT projectors means they are compact, stylish and will fit seamlessly into any lounge. In addition, the adjustable stand can be altered to make the image completely straight even if the surface isn't. The back-lit remote control ensures users won't need to interrupt the movie to adjust the settings. And, as the HT's are super-quiet, nothing is going to disturb the cinema atmosphere.
