BenQ Introduces The PE5120 Digital Home Theater Projector (26/10/2004)

PE5120 DLP Projector Features Native 16:9 Aspect Ratio and 2000:1 Contrast Ratio for Versatile Home Theater Applications

BenQ, a leading manufacturer of DLP(tm)-based digital projectors, today announced the latest addition to its award-winning Home Cinema line of digital home theater projectors, the BenQ PE5120 DLP projector. Designed by BenQ to fit a variety of lifestyles and home entertainment environments, the new BenQ PE5120 features a versatile feature set and competitive price point for home theater enthusiasts.

Utilizing BenQ's proprietary video-processing technology that supports Texas Instruments' 480p DMD chipset, the PE5120 produces vivid images that reflect the power and capabilities of the projector, as well as a high 2000:1 contrast ratio. The PE5120 is also compatible with HDTV (1080i, 720p, 576p, 576i, 480p, 480i), NTSC, PAL, SECAM and EDTV video systems.

BenQ PE5120 Specifications

The BenQ PE5120 DLP home theater projector offers a 2000:1 contrast ratio at 1100 ANSI lumens, and features DVI-I support with HDCP, S-Video, Composite and Component video inputs. With a native 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 854x480 (WVGA), the PE5120 also features a full 16.7-million color palette to ensure excellent color reproduction. The PE5120 also includes 3:2 pull-down for optimum reproduction of movies, Progressive-Scan to provide flicker-free images and Digital Keystone Correction capabilities.

The PE5120 has an estimated street price of $1,499 and will be available in November 2004.
