Velodyne Wins Prestigious EISA Award for European
Subwoofer of the Year 2004-2005 (22/10/2004)
Velodyne Acoustics, Inc. announced that the European
Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) has named the Digital Drive(R)
DD-10 as the European Subwoofer of the Year 2004-2005. The subwoofer
was recognized by the 50 leading photo, video, audio, home theatre
and mobile electronics magazines from over 20 European countries
for its outstanding innovation and technical excellence.
The Digital Drive DD-10 is a DSP-controlled,
high gain servo subwoofer. Powered by Velodyne's patented 1250-watt
RMS Energy Recovery System (ERM(TM)) switching amplifier, the DD-10
is part of the first subwoofer series to incorporate Velodyne's
patent pending Digital Drive room equalization system. This latest
Velodyne innovation allows the subwoofer's frequency response in
any room to be observed on the user's television, digitally corrected
in real-time, and stored in the unit's memory to assure ideal performance
in the consumer's listening area.
"We are delighted to receive this award.
Recognition from an independent and well-respected organization
such as EISA in not only an honor, but also reinforces our continuing
innovation and technological advances in subwoofer technology,"
said Derek Whiteman, international sales manager for Velodyne. "Room
equalization is a huge challenge for critical listening, and the
DD-10 is just one example of how Velodyne is anticipating and responding
to the needs of the market."
The EISA Awards applaud the new products
that combine the most advanced technology, the most desirable features,
the ultimate expression of design, the most satisfying ergonomics
and greatest value for money.
