Following the global success of the award-winning FMJ DV27a DVD player, Arcam now adds HDMI digital Video Audio to the mix. The new DV29 incorporates all the features of the 27a, significantly upgrades the audio video performance and incorporates a raft of technical and operational improvements.

While CD replay has nearly always been a weakness of DVD players, the DV29 achieves a sound quality that is easily equivalent to a high-end stand alone CD player.

The DV29 is the world's first production DVD player with a full specification HDMI output. The DV29 transmits digital video and up to 6 channels of high definition audio to a compatible receiver or processor. This makes it an ideal connection for surround music (e.g. DVD-Audio) and of course DVD movies.

The DV29's exceptional video performance starts with the Zoran 5 MPEG decoding engine. This exceptionally powerful processor offers both interlaced and motion adaptive progressive scan video of outstanding quality. The analogue video outputs use six separate 12 bit / 216 MHz video DACs for best possible picture quality regardless of the output.

The unique combination of twin toroidal power transformers and Acousteel anti-resonance chassis gives the DV29 a tangible performance edge cover other players, offering true high-end DVD CD audio performance from a DVD player.

To ensure system compatibility for enthusiasts and custom installers alike, IR and duplex RS-232 control are fitted as standard, allowing the DV29 to drop straight into a CEDIA type installation. On-board decoding is offered for DVD-Audio, Dolby Digital 5.1, DTS 5.1 and Dolby Pro Logic II, along with comprehensive bass management for all formats.
