Nordost Thor by IsoTek - A new standard in high performance mains distribution (27/9/2004)

This new product is being officially launched at the 2004 Hi-Fi Show in London on September 24th to 26th 2004.

Nordost and IsoTek have collaborated to produce a new standard in noise reducing distribution units.

The Nordost Thor is an elegant designed full 430mm width 6-way mains distribution unit, featuring sophisticated circuitry for dealing with mains noise and voltage spikes without limiting dynamic headroom. It costs from £1599.00 + input and output mains cables, the cost of which will vary on the number of cables required, their length and quality level desired.

Thor has been carefully researched and developed by Nordost in a joint project with IsoTek. The unit is wired throughout with the highly regarded and acclaimed Nordost Valhalla mains cable to achieve the optimum signal transfer and performance.

The unit features IsoTek's Polaris-X circuit technology, a proprietary system that shunts mains borne noise to earth. This effectively eliminates product cross contamination, offering up to six pieces of hardware a completely clean supply.

Quantum QRT Resonance Technology is also used; this is a proprietary material treatment system, which by the use of cutting edge technologies minimises environmental electrical resonance noise.

Thor has been developed with Nordost cable topology and philosophy very much in mind, avoiding the use of the traditional constricting filtering circuits, which Nordost so hate.

Through careful research the IsoTek development team have designed a way to effectively eliminate product cross contamination as well as eliminating all mains borne noise within the PCB.

Traditional solutions would simply filter the mains supply to the products attached, by using simple, but dynamically constricting filtration.

Thor's highly sophisticated silver plated copper circuit board effectively removes mains noise without dynamic limitations as well as giving each piece of equipment a virtual separate spur supply.

The Nordost Thor is a highly upgradeable solution to mains distributions. By systematically improving the quality of the input and output cords, utilising Shiva, Vishnu, or Valhalla, prioritising the input cable first; and by attaching Nordost Pulsar Points to the M6 threaded inserts in the base of the unit to control any unwanted resonances the Thor offers an unparalleled solution to advanced power distribution.
