Continuing its leadership in connectivity products, Philips Electronics showcased its Streamium FlatTV model (23PF9976i) today at the 2004 Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo. The Streamium FlatTV incorporates Philips' popular wireless Streamium technology (based on Wi-Fi(R) 802.11g standard) with an HDTV monitor LCD display. With the Streamium FlatTV, consumers can wirelessly stream their favorite audio and video content off the Internet and home PC and enjoy their movies, music and photos through a stylish LCD display. Part of the "Streamium Experience" within Philips' Connected Planet vision, Philips' Streamium FlatTV creates a world where consumers are able to access and enjoy content wherever and whenever they want.

Featuring a 23-inch diagonal widescreen LCD display, the 23PF9976i offers consumers a wide assortment of home entertainment options. Utilizing Wi-Fi and UPnP networking technology and direct, PC independent connectivity to the Internet, the Streamium FlatTV is able to display streaming video in various formats (MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, DiVx and XviD) and JPEG images and play MP3 and MP3PRO music directly from many Internet content providers such as Yahoo!. Consumers will easily be able to access a multitude of music, videos, movie trailers and photos with a few clicks of the remote Ð anywhere in their home.

Philips' Streamium FlatTV features a PC Link enabling viewers to link wirelessly to a local or home PC. This feature allows consumers to access their own library of music, photos and movies while sharing content through the stylish LCD FlatTV.

"The Streamium FlatTV offers consumers an endless amount of entertainment options," said Des Power, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Premier, Philips Consumer Electronics, North America. "Not only does the FlatTV integrate the Streamium technology, but it also is an LCD HDTV monitor featuring some of our latest visual technologies to ensure that consumers will enjoy crisp, clear images. With the Streamium FlatTV, consumers can enjoy multimedia content while comfortably seated in their living room and without compromising style."

Superior picture quality

The 23PF9976i features an HDTV monitor LCD panel (1280 X 768) and is equipped with Philips Digital Crystal Clear(TM) enhancement technology, a unique package of picture innovations including Comb Filter, Dynamic Contrast, Color Enhancement and Luminance Transient Improvement. The combination of an HDTV monitor and Philips' proprietary imaging technologies ensures a compelling viewing experience.
