ViewSonic Announces 55-Inch Plasma Display (23/9/2004)

The 55-inch flat-screen features clear screen technology that provides superior front of screen performance with rich, vibrant images and theater quality picture clarity.

With a stylized, high gloss black console and 21 percent more viewing area than a 50-inch plasma, the VPW5500 is the ultimate home theater display. The display's 1366x768 native resolution, 1000 nits of brightness (typ) and 160-degree viewing angles combine to produce clear and bright images, whether viewing high-definition television (HDTV) programs, movies or photos. Advanced digital electronics and clear screen technology further enhance the visual experience by correcting color and enhancing image quality, while progressive scan, motion adaptive de-interlacing and 3-D comb filter technology provide smooth, life-like images without jagged lines and signal noise.

For a better and more personalized viewing experience, the VPW5500 features multiple inputs and extensive user controls. It supports most data sources and video signals, including HDTV, and ensures the highest quality connection possible with composite, component, S-video, analog RGB and DVI/HDCP inputs. Users can simultaneously create, view and customize picture-in-picture, split-screen or full-screen windows for data, video and TV signals. The VPW5500 is fully configurable and easily attaches to a wall, ceiling or stand.
