McIntosh Laboratory Introduces The MVP861 Universal
Player (22/9/2004)
McIntosh Laboratory, a world leader in home entertainment
systems for over 54 years, introduces the MVP861 Audio Video Player.
The MVP861, McIntosh' fourth generation DVD
player, is a universal player with built in SACD, DVD Audio, Dolby
Digital and DTS Decoder. The decoder outputs stereo and 5.1 audio
surround sound. Three 192kHz/24-bit PCM/DSD stereo DACs provide
superior high fidelity sound. Speaker calibration can be selected
for different size speakers, channel level and delay time. Bass
management of two channel and multi-channel sources is built in
to the MVP861. The MVP861 has both coaxial and optical digital audio
outputs for an external decoder plus XLR connectors for true balanced
stereo output.
Video features include progressive scan and
the choice of NTSC or PAL video output. The MVP861 utilizes 12-bit
high-speed video DAC, where video signal processing is performed
at a rapid rate minimizing digital artifacts for enhanced DVD picture
quality. To accommodate a wide range of monitors, the MVP861 has
selectable component video output of 480P or 480I as well as component
`S' and composite video output.
The audio sections of the MVP861 have been
optimized for the finest playback of CD, SACD and DVD-Audio and
film soundtracks. Balanced 24 bit/192 KHz and DSD Digital to Analog
Converters are used in the MVP861 along with an advanced R-Core
power supply with dedicated voltage regulation for each stage of
the MVP861.
An on screen display feature allows the control
of a variety of setting via the remote control. An RS232C port supports
AMX, Crestron and other integrated control system.
The MVP861 is scheduled to ship in October
at a suggested retail price of $4,000. The MVP861 will be officially
introduced at CEDIA 2004 and can be seen along with McIntosh's other
outstanding electronics and loudspeakers at the McIntosh Booth #
355.
