New RVX-54 Floorstander and RVX-42 On-Wall Loudspeakers
Offer High-Performance Klipsch Sound for Flat Panel Televisions
(22/9/2004)
With similar flatness and styling to popular plasma
and LCD televisions, the new Klipsch Reference Series RVX-54 and
RVX-42 loudspeakers offer high-performance audio solutions that
complement this growing consumer electronics segment. Klipsch is
actively displaying these models for the first time at CEDIA EXPO
2004 in booth number 532.
The RVX-42 on-wall and RVX-54 floorstander
both have enclosures that are single-piece aluminum extrusions and
use 1-inch titanium-dome compression drivers mated to round Tractrix(r)
horns for maximum clarity and efficiency. The RVX-42 employs dual
4-inch aluminum woofers, while the RVX-54 has four active 5.25-inch
aluminum woofers.
The RVX-42 perfectly complements 42-inch
plasma and LCD screens. It also features keyhole mounts (sized to
fit a single-gang electrical box), plus dual 3/8"-20 threaded inserts
for popular wall mounts and a pedestal base. There are two insert
locations on the RVX-42 where the pedestal can be positioned - one
in the center and one on the bottom so the loudspeaker can either
serve as a center channel or bookshelf. Another key feature is a
bass compensation switch that tailors the speaker's crossover network
for maximum performance whether placed on-wall or off-wall.
Both new RVX models are available in the
same black or silver finishes as the Klipsch Reference Satellites
so that they can be combined to create complete systems. For example,
consumers can design a 5.1-channel surround sound system using a
pair of RVX-54 main channels, a pair of Reference Satellite RSX-5s
for surrounds, an RVX-42 for a center channel and a Reference Series
RW-12 subwoofer.
Slated to ship in August, the Klipsch Reference
Series RVX speakers will be packaged individually for mix-and-match
simplicity. The RVX-54 will be sold at a U.S. MSRP of $799 each
and the RVX-42 will be sold at a targeted U.S. MSRP of $450 each.
