Naim upgrades AV2 processor (22/9/2004)
Naim Audio is please to announce that a new firmware
release for the AV2 AV processor will be available from October
2004.
This new firmware release will be a free
of charge upgrade for all owners of the award-winning AV2.
The improvements deliver a improved flexibility
for users and greater fine tuning of the settings to improve the
overall performance of the system.
Improvements offered by the new AVc01-04
firmware
Lip-Sync delay variable between 0 and 150
ms in 10ms increments
Adjustable LFE cut-off between 40Hz and 140Hz in 10Hz increments
DTS Neo:6 centre gain adjustment
DVD5 integration allowing:
o OSD display of volume/mute and processing mode
o Access to all settings via OSD
o Help text for each setting
o Can switch both units into standby and together
o Can switch displays on/off together
o Automatic input switching (i.e. AV2 switches to multi-channel
analogue input for DVD-A 5.1 and to coax input for DVD video
RC5 control codes allowing easier control via a Pronto or other
programmable remote control
o Discrete on/off commands as well as toggle commands for mute,
stand-by, display off, midnight mode, bass mix and cine-eq as examples
User definable input labels
General improvements to the robustness of the system and a faster
user interface.
The new firmware designated AVc01-04 can
be installed on owners AV2s by their Naim retailer. Naim suggests
that owners contact their retailer to make an appointment as the
upgrade can take about one hour to complete.
