The HTR-2400 Home And Theater AV Receiver And XM Radio Take Center Stage For Audio Design Associates At The 2004 CEDIA Expo (21/9/2004)

Audio Design Associates, Inc. (ADA) will be showing its revolutionary new system for custom installation, the HTR-2400, at the CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association) Expo, in Indianapolis, September 10-12, 2004. The HTR-2400 is the world's first "home and theater" A/V receiver, an appropriate play on word to the standard home theater receivers that are the cornerstone for single room home theater systems. ADA will be displaying the HTR-2400 in booth #255.

The HTR-2400 combines in a single chassis, everything one requires for both a distributed audio (whole-house multi-room music system) as well as a state-of-the-art digital 7.1 home theater system. "The HTR-2400 will run eight independent rooms with sound and video as well as a ninth independent home theater room." states Albert G. Langella, ADA's President, CEO, and Chief Design Engineer. "The beauty in its engineering lies in the single component design, removing the complexities of sharing components between a multi-room and home theater system." The HTR-2400 is more than just a switcher/preamplifier as it also has twenty-four channels of power amplification, eight stereo channels for the eight rooms/zones and 7.1 channels for the home theater. Langella continues, "We made certain that the HTR-2400 would live up to our "Rolls Royce" reputation for sound quality, durability, and ease of use. For custom installation, there is nothing else out there like it."

The HTR-2400 is also the world's first A/V receiver to feature a built-in XM Satellite Radio tuner. XM Radio, the nation's leading provider of satellite radio with more than 2.1M subscribers, is rapidly changing the way people listen to music, news, sports, comedy, and other forms of entertainment. Stations are grouped into categories and the HTR-2400 makes surfing these categories easy. Its front panel color LCD display scrolls through these categories and when on a specific genre, lets you scroll through stations just in that genre. "Audio Design Associates continues their tradition of being first to market with leading edge product designs and the HTR-2400 is no different. XM is proud to be showcased in yet another home entertainment platform from ADA where the leading audio programming is combined with the leading audio delivery systems. XM offers the best in commercial-free music and premier talk radio, and the HTR-2400 is a fantastic platform to let you take full advantage of the variety and superior sound that XM offers." Said Phil Whitworth, Director of Product Marketing for XM.

The HTR-2400 also features a second tuner capable of AM, FM, and Weather band reception. The dual tuner configuration (also a first for an A/V receiver) permits a person in one room to listen to XM Radio, while another person elsewhere in the home could be listening to FM radio. In addition its two tuners, the HTR-2400 can play an additional six components simultaneously throughout the home (CDs, tapes, etc.) as well as up to eight additional digital audio components to the theater. For video, while each room in the home can also receive a composite video signal, the theater video switching is advanced enough to handle both S-Video and component video (HDTV).

ADA also offers a complete line of keypads that connect directly to the HTR-2400 permitting people to access their entertainment in any room of the home. It also features an RS-232 port making it easy to integrate the HTR-2400 with virtually any control system available including AMX, Crestron, and Vantage.
