JVC Takes Top Prizes in Two EISA Divisions (19/8/2004)
Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. (TSE: 6792; "JVC")
received top honors in two divisions in the 2004-2005 European Imaging
and Sound Association (EISA) awards. EISA has been one of the most
prestigious product awards in the electronics industry. The audio
compact system and the television were named best of the year in
their categories. EISA is an organization for the editors of Europe's
leading video, audio, photo, home theater, and mobile electronics
magazines. It was formed in 1982 and currently has a membership
of nearly fifty magazines in eighteen European countries. Each year
it selects the best video, audio, photo, home theater, and mobile
products for recognition. Its "European Awards" are both prestigious
and authoritative, a mark of excellence for consumers and industry
people in Europe and the world at large.
JVC has been honored by EISA for nine consecutive
years.
Below are details on the products receiving
awards and the reasons for their selection.
"European Audio Compact System of the Year
2004-2005" EX-A1 When nature meets technology: JVC offers the world's
first loudspeaker to use a solid wood cone. The small, beautifully
crafted speakercabinets are also of wood, and the result is a clear
and natural sound, with outstanding bass performance. Matching electronics
include a DVD-player and AM/FM tuner, along with JVC's newly-developed
hybrid feedback digital amplifier, pumping out a generous 2 x 30
watts. Naturally, the EX-A1 can play audio CDs, and importantly
it's also compatible with hi-res DVD Audio discs. Good news for
home cinema enthusiasts: the Composite, S-Video or RGB video output
can be connected to any video display.
"European Television of the Year 2004-2005"
HV-36P38SUE The JVC HV-36P38 is the first consumer TV that is able
to display high definition video signals with a full resolution
of 1920x1080 pixels through a dedicated Component input-five times
the density of standard TV and DVD Video images. But even with standard
definition content, thanks to the award-winning DIST processing
technology, all the images displayed by the JVC are up-scaled to
high definition resolution without flickering. In the near future,
within the next year, the amount of high definition programs in
Europe will be significant, and the owners of this product will
be at an advantage.
