BeldenCDT Launhes HomeChoice Range - One Cable, One Pull, One Performance (13/8/2004)

A house is no longer just a home, it is an office, entertainment centre, place of learning and also of security - the 'Intelligent' home is in demand. Global cable manufacturer BeldenCDT has launched their HomeChoice group of products following the massive success of these products in the US.

Their HomeChoice range of products brings to the home future-proof capabilities for every application, supporting home office (networking), home theatre, lighting, security lighting, security alarm (CCTV), intelligent equipment (vibration sensors/ patch panelss), and smart appliances all through a 'single-pull' cable!

The use of a single cable throughout the home provides an easy to install, and cost effective solution for homebuilders to meet the technological demands of modern homebuyers.

The needs of the contractors and homeowners could not be more different, the homeowner demands high performance across a wide range of modern services, whilst the installers seek ease of installation and cost effectiveness, both however, view reliability as crucial.

This lay down the gauntlet for the Research & Development team in Belden, who have worked hard to develop a cable range of combined data, coaxial and/or fibre optic cables that satisfies all demands within the modern building market.

Through technical expertise, research and development evolved the HomeChoice range of products, unrivalled in the market for their quality and performance delivery.

Installation of these cables today means that properties will be 'future-proof' - ready for the next generation of home entertainment and connectivity, making the property more attractive to the home buyer.

"Our products are UL (Underwriters Laboratories) verified Category 5e structured cabling for the single and multi family intelligent home markets and also for smart office commercial applications" commented Hans Werner Eich, Marketing Manager, HomeChoice .

"The success of the HomeChoice portfolio in the US encouraged us to launch the product in Europe, already there has been significant interest which we feel is set to grow as the demand for 'intelligent homes' increases."

Other manufacturers may include CAT 5e data components, but their finished cable performance may be compromised when they are built into a composite cable. Only Belden Bonded-Pair Cables offer the assurance of Installable Performance.

Through Installable Performance Belden test all of their products to ensure that no loss of performance is experienced through installation. No other cable on the market comes with the Installable Performance guarantee.

After the rigours of installation Belden know their cable will still perform beyond the requirements of today's intelligent home. During tests all cables within the market performed to a similar standard on the reel, but when the cable experiences the stress of installation only Belden cable maintained the same level of performance. Some cables failed to meet Cat5e cable requirements, a shocking result for those installing future-proof cables.

"Belden Bonded-Pair cable on the other hand provide CAT 5e verified performance as part of the HomeChoice composite cable." Enthused Eich, " As member of Cedia we are serious about educating the market into the pitfalls of using sub standard products and the huge loss of performance experienced once installed."

The future is a bright one, and with the introduction of a new jacket-less cable into the European market, Bananna Peel , the evolution of high performance cables has begunÉjust peel off the centre spline and you're in business!
