Flamingbox Opens Cutting Edge Digital Home Demonstration Suite (12/8/2004)

Home-owners can now get hands-on experience of the latest wireless digital home technology with the opening of a new demonstration suite by Wiltshire-based Flamingbox.

The intelligent home demonstration room, which cost £175,000 to complete, includes the most up to date integrated home cinema and music technology, lighting and heat controls, plus home security.

The new Flamingbox suite includes an eight-speaker Dolby Digital sound system, a quiet hi-resolution projector and a 75-inch screen. As well as television and cinema options, digital photographs are easily viewed on-screen or additional monitors can be linked to a PC or computer gaming system. And everything is controlled from a wireless hand-held or wall-mounted unit.

Dean Gillings, managing director, Flamingbox, says: "Some of our clients know exactly the hottest new technology they want, while others arenāt interested in the nuts and bolts of the equipment but just know what they want to achieve. This interactive demonstration facility gives people the opportunity to see what is possible and helps them to start to dream."

Systems are also available for lighting, curtains and heating control, or home protection technology such as CCTV, fire and smoke detection. And Flamingbox is also currently demonstrating a £22,000 DVD audio system which can store an entire music collection.

Dean adds: "Intelligent digital homes are no longer a thing of the future. We can create and install bespoke systems from £10,000 to £250,000, and the options are as varied as peopleās imaginations."
