niro1.com Launches Second-Generation Surround Sound
Systems (6/8/2004)
Legendary Audio Innovator Niro Nakamichi Takes
the Next Bold Step with the Technology That Made Single-Speaker
Surround Sound a Reality
niro1.com USA Inc. unveiled four additions to
the NIRO 1.1 Series that offer the home theater, PC and gaming markets
an expanded line of easy-to-use, single-speaker, surround sound
systems. The new NIRO 1.1 Series includes: The NIRO 400, NIRO 600,
NIRO 1.1 PRO II and NIRO Reference. Following the trail blazed by
the revolutionary NIRO 1.1 in 2003, each system delivers thrilling
5.1 surround sound from a single speaker box.
Featured across the series is the compact
SPA digital amplifier, running NIROSON(R) processing with an onboard
DSP (Digital Signal Processor) able to perform 600 million calculations
per second. The NIROSON(R) processing is a revolutionary implementation
of an HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) algorithm. This creates
a vivid surround sound field in any room, from one speaker box.
The SPA is plug-and-play, with both coaxial
and optical digital audio inputs, and is compatible with all DVD
players and DVRs, as well as all cable and satellite HDTV receivers.
These digital audio inputs on the SPA enable NIRO to target the
growing number of users who watch DVD movies on their personal computers
and the PC, XBOX(R) and PS2(R) gaming markets.
"These four systems are proof of NIRO's commitment
to bringing the benefits of single-speaker surround sound to a broader
market," said Lonnie Pastor, Vice President of niro1.com USA Inc.
"An ever growing number of people are watching DVDs and gaming on
their PCs, not to mention the vast console gaming market. The NIRO
400 allows them to enjoy true surround sound more easily than ever
before possible because of NIRO technology."
The Reference ($900) is the benchmark NIRO
home theater, surround sound system. Its 5 three-inch drivers, lacquered
compact enclosure and ported subwoofer make unparalleled home theater
performance easy and accessible in any space and any video display.
The 1.1 PRO II ($800) home theater system,
with new NIROSON(R) algorithms, raises the bar set by its namesake,
the NIRO 1.1 PRO -- the single-speaker 5.1 surround sound system
that revolutionized the home theater market.
Targeted to the base of the home theater
market, the NIRO 600 ($600) incorporates five drivers in its enclosure
and a new low profile subwoofer. Belying its size, the NIRO 600
generates a broad surround sound field in any room and doesn't require
technical expertise to achieve perfect performance.
The NIRO 400 ($450) also houses five drivers
but has a more compact enclosure. Its slim subwoofer is ideal for
apartments, dorms and offices. The monitor mount accessory allows
the NIRO 400 speaker to be easily affixed to the top of a TV, computer
monitor or laptop, while still delivering vivid surround sound for
gaming and watching DVDs, without clutter or hassle.
All NIRO surround sound systems are sold
exclusively at http://www.niro1.com. "Offering our systems manufacturer
direct saves our customers from paying retail markup," Pastor said.
"If we sold our systems in stores, they'd pay higher prices and
still not know what it sounds like in their home. We invite our
customers to try a NIRO system. With our thirty-day, money-back
guarantee, there's no risk. It sets up in minutes and they'll be
able to decide for themselves."
