Denon AVR-2805 7.1 AV And Multi-Room Receiver (16/7/2004)

A new price point / performance benchmark that offers astounding value for home cinema enthusiasts

- latest SHARC Analog Devices 32-bit DSP
- full Fast Auto-Setup & EQ
- sound quality improvements throughout

The Denon AVR-2805 is the second model in Denon's 2005 range and replaces the award-winning AVR-2803. It delivers a huge performance boost with a deliberate jump in model number to signify the major upgrade.

With many elements from the more expensive 3805, the very latest chipsets have been used and the latest codecs incorporated. The 2805 is designed to leapfrog current and anticipated competition at this price point in both performance, sound quality and real-life usable features. It is very custom install friendly with 2 zones & RS232 Crestron / AMX support.

- 7 x 135 watts DIN discrete power *
- 7 x 100 full bandwidth watts rms
- Fast Auto Setup Calibration and Auto Room EQ
Supplied with a very high quality microphone - this system is more accurate and covers more parameters than competing systems. The powerful DSP analyzes accurately with an 8 band parametric equalizer for each channel.- New 32-bit DDSC-D inc. latest SHARC DSP
- High-grade DSPs & DACS throughout
- Dolby Pro-Logic IIx & DTS Enhanced Neo:6 at 96kHz
- Denon AL24 Processing
- Pure Direct ultra-clean mode for music
- Video-transcoding to component
- HDTV ready component inputs
- New dot-matrix display with more info all of the time
- Upgraded styling and build quality
- 7 x 135 watts DIN discrete power amps * This figure is for comparison purposes as some competitors use this DIN spec to inflate their power outputs. Some only quote into 6 ohms at 1kHz at 1% distortion for the same reason. Real specs should be 20Hz to 20kHz into 8 ohms at less than 0.05% distortion

Denon's Fast Auto Set-Up Calibration

The AVR-2805 incorporates Denon's High-Speed Auto Set-Up calibration and Room EQ feature that makes it easier to tailor the performance of the receiver for any listening environment. The Auto Set-Up analyzes and calibrates six critically important settings: speaker connection, phase, size and frequency response, and adjusts channel level and time delay, while Room EQ corrects frequency response with an 8-band parametric equalizer and adjusts to the optimum soundfield, compensating for speaker and room capability issues.

Denon's calibration feature also utilizes higher-performance DSP processors, along with the finest DACs, to define optimum sound quality. The AVR-2805 ships with a specially designed calibration microphone and both the EQ and Auto Set-Up features can be disabled for manual calibration if preferred.

Full 2-room Audio/Video Multi-Room capability plus Power Amp Assign.

Advanced Technologies For Performance
The AVR-2805 delivers superlative sound quality, thanks to high-end digital audio technologies such as the latest 2004 Analog Devices SHARC 32-bit floating point DSP processing and Denon's proprietary advanced DDSC-D (Dynamic Discrete Surround Decoder-Digital) circuitry.

Video up-conversion plus 100mHz HDTV ready component inputs vital for the future now that SKY have announced HDTV plans
For simplicity of video connectivity and switching, the AVR-2805 includes video up-conversion from composite and/or S-Video sources to component video without compromising video quality. There are three assignable sets of component inputs and one set of monitor outputs (all with 100mHz Bandwidth).
