The Max Distribution Company Introduces the SmartBox Series (14/7/2004)

TV sets and garage doors are not the only household staples that can benefit from the advantages of remote control technology. Savvy homeowners are already installing state of the art remote control systems to draw the curtains, pull blinds, adjust the CD ... the options are endless.

But, until now, installing, programming and controlling remote packages has been far from simple. Many installations of this type are based on the Lutron GrafikEye system. The GrafikEye is ideal for lighting, but has limited capacity on its own for controlling the increasing range of motors needed in modern installations. To address this growth in demand The Max has launched the new, dedicated SmartBox series of wall-mounted, easy to use motor modules.

Only available in the UK from audio visual specialist The Max, the new SmartBox range can be used to integrate curtains, screens, blinds, TV lifts or other motorised units with Lutron's GrafikEye system. Needing minimal additional wiring, the SmartBox can be used to control as many as four 3-wire motors from either low-voltage or mains supply and will provide up to 10 additional scenes and five different user modes.

Additional features include: the ability to operate as a stand-alone unit with an original Lutron Keypad; activation via any learnable remote control; installation with any Lutron keypad; and an ability to address either one or multiple GrafikEyes within the application.

SmartBox has been designed for ease of installation and ease of use, making it popular with both installers and end users. And by installing it as part of a GrafikEye package the result is an intelligent and economical solution to room management.
