RTI's RP-6 Processor Controls Any Home Theater (13/7/2004)
The Compact RP-6 Provides Faster and More Reliable
Control of Any Size Home Theater at an Affordable Price
Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the leader
in innovative home control solutions, announced the introduction
of the new RP-6 Remote Control Processor. The RP-6 is a centralized
signal processor with the power to give users fast, easy and reliable
control over any size system. Whether covering a single home theater
or a multi-room home automation system, the RP-6 is the perfect
centerpiece for a comprehensive home entertainment control solution.
Scheduled for release this summer, the RP-6 (MSRP: $599) will be
available to custom installers nationwide through AVAD's distribution
network
"The RP-6 delivers a powerful and affordable
control solution for today's complex home electronics systems,"
said Pete Baker, director of sales at RTI. "Building on ten years
of research, design, and feedback, our engineers rolled all of the
features dealers have asked for in control solutions into one small
magic box. Installers can instantly tailor the size and scope of
their RTI control system--adding and removing devices at any time--and
the RP-6 has the power to adapt, putting complete control into one
intuitive remote control."
The RP-6 Remote Control Processor simplifies
all the signal communication and distribution functions necessary
for controlling today's advanced entertainment systems, centralizing
the power at the processor. Previously, operating platforms with
a single universal remote control would result in lost or incomplete
commands and macro sequences due to many environmental and performance
limitations. The RP-6 ensures powerful and precise signal transmission,
foregoing use of an internal receiver, and using standard IR emitters
and repeater systems, which allow installers to instantly scale
an RTI control system to the scope or complexity of any project.
The RP-6 also stores and dispatches all macro strings and IR codes
from its processor, requiring only a single IR or RF trigger command
for perfect execution of macros every time.
For intelligent power management, RTI designed
video and voltage-sensing modules to monitor the status the RP-6's
supported components. The company also offers an RS-232 interface,
allowing installers to easily integrate the RP-6 with today's popular
home automation networks.
The RP-6 Remote Control Processor measures
just 9.3"W x 5.3"H x 1.5"D and weighs only 1 lb. 3 oz., so installers
can easily hide the unit or mount it within a cabinet. It features
6 front panel multi-purpose I/O ports (with short-circuit and overload
protection, and variable IR power output), 3 programmable relay
outputs, and an RS-485 jack for future expansion. Top panel LEDs
make it easy to monitor signal transmission status.
