Key ease-of-use features for consumers in this price class

Auto Decode. When a disc is inserted, the Auto Decode function automatically detects the sound format (Dolby Digital or DTS) and starts playing the disc. It also detects digital broadcast satellite (DBS) signals, so that 5.1 channel broadcasts are automatically heard in full surround sound. With Auto Decode, users can just enjoy the programs and not worry about making manual settings.

Quick Setup. The DHT-500SD is easy to set up by following two steps using on-screen operation: (1) select the size of the listening room, from Small, Medium, or Large, and (2) select the listening position, from Centre or Back. Quick Set-up feature then automatically adjusts the soundfield to suit this environment.

GLO-KEY Handset. The main buttons on the remote are illuminated in fluorescent colours for easy operation in the dark.

Family Photo Show. Play and CD or CDR with JPEG and Photo-CD files. Digital pics for the whole family.

Expertly designed cabinet made of extruded aluminium and MDF sandwich. The boat-tail shape of the cabinet discourages standing waves and the MDF end caps are bolted to the 3mm aluminium extrusion forming a rigid non-resonant structure.
