Fall Focus to examine On-Demand Digital Entertainment
(5/7/2004)
Parks Associates today announced that its upcoming
executive seminar Fall Focus, to be held Nov 10-12, 2004, at the
Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, CA, will address the theme
On-Demand Digital Entertainment. The event, hosted by industry experts
Parks Associates, will examine the current conditions and future
vision for the markets involving digital entertainment content in
the networked home.
"The digital home is poised for a mass-market
push based largely on the strength of these ondemand technologies
and services," said Tricia Parks, president of Parks Associates.
"Our Fall Focus seminar will provide an examination of the markets
and successful business model options, views about these services
from today's online consumers, and the opportunity to network with
key market players."
The markets to be discussed involve content
such as music, gaming, and movie content, all of which will see
strong growth in the next few years, according to Parks Associates.
The firm forecasts that by the end of 2007, there will be eight
million subscribers to on-demand music services, generating over
$900 million annually, while the number of broadband games-ondemand
households will exceed two million.
"Parks Associates has been studying digital
entertainment for several years, balancing practicality with the
genuine excitement these solutions generate, and this measured approach
is represented in the three Fall Focus themes - Vision, Reality,
and Solutions," said Kurt Scherf, vice president and principal analyst
for Parks Associates. "These markets have reached a key point in
their maturation, and Fall Focus will serve as an excellent event
to assess their current state and determine the necessary steps
to foster continuing success." About Fall Focus Fall Focus seminars
are targeted events providing a full analysis and evaluation of
the "focus" topic. These seminars typically host 175-225 people,
