Home security using a mobile phone (25/6/2004)

Most people have a mobile phone these days. It is common knowledge that you can use it to make phone calls. But what almost nobody knows, is that you can also use a mobile phone to keep your house safe and secure. As soon as unwanted visitors enter a house, the owner (or a neighbour) gets a warning by phone.

The device that makes all this possible is the Marmitek HomeGuard, a compact, all-in-one surveillance system. Everything is built-in: a motion detector, a phone dialler and a loud 90dB siren. Silent alarm is also possible. The set also comprises a radiographic mini remote control with panic button; pressing this button activates the siren. A comforting thought for anyone who is home alone.

The HomeGuard is also ideal for senior citizens who live alone: by pressing the panic button they can send an instant phone warning to relatives or neighbours. You only pay once for the HomeGuard; so no monthly payments for a subscription.

Installation is very simple: plug it in, connect it to the phone line and the HomeGuard is ready for use.

Suggested retail price for the HomeGuard including remote control is €59,95.
