V, Inc. Enters Rear Projection TV Category for Home
Theater Entertainment (23/6/2004)
Slim and Affordable Rear Projection VIZIO TV Offers
DLP and DCDi Technology; Perfect Big Screen Solution for Video Enthusiasts
and Families Alike
Continuing its quick expansion within the consumer
electronics market, V, Inc. -- "Where Vision Meets Value" -- adds
a Rear Projection TV (RPTV) category to its home entertainment product
lineup. The entry into the market is marked with the launch of the
VIZIO RP56, a 56-inch wide-screen HD DLP(TM) Television.
The VIZIO RP56 features Texas Instruments'
Digital Light Processing (DLP(TM)) technology. This technology produces
higher contrast levels, sharper images and better motion reproduction
through the use of its HD2 DMD (Digital MicroMirror Device) chip.
At the core of DLP(TM) chip technology are thousands of mirrors
spaced less than one micron apart. By minimizing the space between
the pixels in a projected image, the DLP(TM) system creates a seamless
and sharp digital image at any projected size. By combining this
technology with 4.0 gain screen technology, the VIZIO RP56 provides
an incredible picture in a lighter, slimmer (less than 19 inches
deep) cabinet perfect for today's home theaters.
"Our VIZIO digital TV offerings continue
to set new standards in HDTV value and performance," said Michael
Ritter, V Inc.'s Vice President of Marketing. "The addition of a
56" DLP based rear projection model presents another opportunity
for our company to deliver on its promise of providing the benefits
of high quality, true digital technology at a great value."
When it comes to home theater, the VIZIO
RP56 is an ideal choice. It offers a native HD resolution of 1280
x 720 pixels (720p), 1500:1 contrast ratio and features a direct
digital DVI (Digital Video Interface) with HDCP (High Definition
Copy Protection) for the best in direct digital reproduction. The
DVI input's color space can be selected as PC video (0-255) or HD
video (16-235) so valuable black picture details are not eliminated.
The VIZIO RP56 also offers a dual A/V tuner
for PIP (picture-in-picture with audio) and POP (picture-on-picture)
so you can watch and hear two of your favorite TV shows simultaneously.
Any of your video streams from HDTV, DVD, VCR, SAT and cable can
be displayed using PIP in either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect modes.
All of today's video formats are supported
through a variety of inputs including two SD/HD component video,
two composite video, two S-Video and a RF antenna. A convenient
side panel houses a composite video, S-Video and PC RGB with corresponding
audio inputs for quick connection to game boxes, camcorders and
laptop computers. Additionally, the side panel allows connection
to headphone jacks for the PIP and main screen allowing you complete
flexibility for audio entertainment.
The feature packed RPTV also includes Faroudja's
DCDi (Directional Correction Deinterlacer) technology for enhancing
standard definition video programming. DCDi is a motion-adaptive
deinterlacer capable of identifying either video or film-based content
-- even with incorrectly authored DVDs. Video material's edges are
interpolated to produce smooth natural images from standard definition
sources. Motion artifacts and jagged edges are virtually eliminated
using the deinterlacer's 3:2/2:2 pull down for a more fluid, flicker-free
on-screen experience.
Built-in dual speakers create a 3D enhancement
effect when utilizing VIVA HD3D Sound from BBE, completing the home
theater package with surround audio.
In its commitment to offering the best product
at the most affordable value, V, Inc. has made the VIZIO RP56 available
for as low as $2999.
