Installer network focuses on rapidly growing demand
for intelligent homes (14/6/2004)
To meet anticipated demand for its low cost, high
functionality home automation and entertainment networking systems,
Square D is setting up a national installer network, comprising
companies trained to design, install and provide back up.
The network will comprise Approved Installers,
focusing on major new build projects, and Enhanced Living Partners,
supporting smaller customised projects for end users and the self-build
market. Square D already has agreements with 12 companies nationwide
and is well on the way to achieving its target of 60 Approved Installers
and Enhanced Living Partners by the end of 2004.
To qualify, installers attend a three-day
intensive training course at one of six Square D training centres
run by the company's new Residential Systems and Solutions (RSS)
division. This is followed by a further day's training for relevant
sales staff, before being appointed to the network. Personnel from
Square D will inspect and verify each installer's early installations
and will ensure high standards are maintained by carrying out regular
audits.
To support the installer network, Square
D is also appointing a franchised stockist network that will carry
the full range of Square D Intelligent Home Control and LexCom Home
networking products.
