Aquavision introduces new ranges of waterproof TVs
(7/6/2004)
Kitchen TV
Designed to fit into standard kitchen units,
two new waterproof and greaseproof flat LCD TVs were launched by
Aquavision at CEDIA 2004. Both the Aquavision K5 (500mm wide) and
Aquavision K6 (600mm wide) incorporate a 17" wide screen LCD screen
with IPS technology providing a 176 degree, all round viewing angle.
The Aquavisions are supplied with small bookshelf type speakers,
standard and waterproof remote controls and are simple to mount
into standard 500 or 600mm wide kitchen units. Front panels are
available in a choice of white, brown or polished stainless steel
so they will blend in with other kitchen appliances and won't look
out of place above the oven or microwave.
Bathroom TV
In response to feedback from CEDIA installers,
Aquavision introduced an improved version of their well established
range of bathroom TVs. The new units now have an 8mm polished stainless
steel flange on the front to cover any rough edges on tiles etc.
The patented new design reduces the build-in depth whilst simplifying
flush-mount installation in solid walls and panels such as kitchen,
bedroom and bathroom doors. A full range of screens will be available
in the new design including 10.4" and 15" (4:3) plus 17" and 23"
(16:9).
Towelrail TV
Aquavision introduced a new concept in bathroom
TVs. Available in three sizes (500 X 800mm, 1000 X 760mm and 1000
X 1800mm) and designated Aquavision T1, T2 and T3, all models incorporate
a 17" widescreen LCD TV with two built-in speakers and MirrorVision
glass on the front. The patented screens look like designer towel
rail mirrors but when powered up, a TV image appears from behind
the mirror.
"This will open up a new "retrofit"
market for us. The Towelrail TV is ideal for property developers
as they are simple to install and can be added to an options list
when marketing new or renovated smart-home properties" said
Alastair Benn, MD of Aquavision.
MirrorVision for Plasma & LCD Screens
Available as mirror glass only for mounting
in a picture frame or, for wet areas such as bathrooms, pools and
spas, with a waterproof enclosure to fit most 42" and some 50" plasma
screens. The MirrorVision glass looks like a normal mirror but when
powered up the TV image appears from behind the mirror.
Alastair Benn, MD of Aquavision said "This
is an ideal way to conceal large flat panel TV screens in period
properties or smart-homes where all the technology is out of sight.
When the screen is turned off it's a mirror, when turned on it's
a TV".
