Screen Research will launch Ç Le WING È at the CEDIA UK EXPO in Birmingham from June 2nd to 4th (booth B22, Hall 3). "Le Wing" is the first retractable system to combine an acoustically transparent projection screen and the three front speakers in a Home Cinema system.

"Le Wing" is the first retractable system to combine an acoustically transparent projection screen and the three front speakers in a Home Cinema system. Aimed at Home Cinema addicts willing to preserve the aesthetic of the room and demanding high level performances, "Le Wing" is decorator-friendly and has exceptional integration, audio and video qualities, in a really reduced space compared with existing systems.

"Le Wing" will first be available in a designer version. It will then be declined in different versions to be slot in a false ceiling in order to reach a perfect integration in the existing environment. It will allow the projection of 16/9 format images from 80'' (2,03 m) to 110'' (2,80 m), using the internationally renowned ClearPix projection screens, associated with THX certification-pending three way speakers of high quality.

The XMask, a masking system for fixed screens which brings striking innovations, will also be presented at that trade fair and for the first time in the United Kingdom.

The whole range of masking systems for fixed screens, named XMask, is aimed at providing your picture with the black border it deserves, in all image ratios, for a dramatic improvement in picture quality. This product line stands out due to its striking innovations, especially regarding the horizontal movement of the lateral masks. It allows a total compatibility with all kinds of video format and ensures a true cinema effect. The new technology offers a great precision and unequalled compactness. Indeed, the frame is only 5.5" (14 cm) deep and 6.3" (16 cm) wide

The range includes different products :

- The XMask Ultimate,Ê the top of the range, equipped with 4 independent vertical and horizontal masks providing the image with a black border, no matter what its format. Image sizes (height and length) can then vary, according to the required formats. The standard native format is 16/9 (1.78) but it can also be adapted to any specific format.

- The XMask CineScope and Widescope, includes the lateral masks of the Ultimate and has a 2.35 or 16/9 format. They allow the viewer to maintain a constant height for the image, no matter what its format.

- The XMask Scope, offers two horizontal and independent masks and is available in 16/9 and in 4/3 formats.

You will be able as well to discover our ClearPix range of THX Ultra and ISF certified projection screens at our booth, together with CinePanel products for acoustic treatment and Screen Stand Decorum Cinema. These last two products are distributed by Audio Video Technology, a company from the Screen Research Group.

The ClearPix range consists exclusively of acoustically transparent projection screens with exceptional audio and video characteristics. The prestigious American Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) has just certified ClearPix2 which has then joined the very small group of ISF certified screens, after having already joined the THX one. This range of acoustically transparent screens is also the only one compatible with fixed-pixel projectors such as DMD, DLP, LCD, or D-ILA. ClearPix2 is available for fixed-frame and motorized screens in 16/9 and 4/3 aspect ratios, for image widths from 70" (1.80 m) to 120" (3.05 m). It is available in matte white (0.95 gain) for all types of projectors or in pearl grey (0.75 gain) for very high-powered projectors or entry-level projectors, which helps guarantee better contrast.

A ClearPix2 motorized projection screen will be presented in an active system at the "Fusion Lounge" (Hall 7).
