The Menvier SD2 - The latest in speech dialler technology from Cooper Security (18/5/2004)

Cooper Security has just launched a sophisticated and stylish addition to its speech dialler range - the new Menvier SD2. The SD2's versatility means it can be used in a variety of applications, such as for monitoring electrical equipment, as a warning system and as an alarm verification tool when used in conjunction with a control panel.

"The SD2 has a multitude of benefits for both the installer and the customer. For installers it is unfailingly reliable, has a sophisticated audit trail and is easy to programme and install. As far as the customer is concerned, not only does the SD2 look appealing with its blue LCD display, it also offers a useful remote access facility, enabling customers to listen or talk to their premises via an integral microphone and loudspeaker. The SD2 even has two programmable outputs which can be linked to home automation equipment" explained Steve Holland, Menvier Security Product Manager.

On activation, the SD2 can contact up to 10 telephone numbers. It also has a restore message facility, which means that if it is set to monitor temperature (for example in a refridgerator or an elderly person's home) and the temperature rises or falls substantially, the SD2 will notify the recipient of an alarm activation. If the temperature stabilises on its own, the SD2 notifies the recipient that they do not need to take action. The SD2's remote trigger function could allow end-users to reset their alarm system from a mobile phone.

With a flexible trigger input voltage of 9v Ð 24v, the new SD2 will open up a wide variety of new markets in equipment monitoring ranging from heating and air conditioning systems, to fire equipment and vending machines.
