Preview: CEDIA Expo 2004 (10/4/2004)

As the primary engine for growth and enlightenment in the UK's Custom Installation industry, CEDIA Expo 2004 provides detailed courses on the "nuts and bolts" of residential installation: from cabling to home theatre, lighting design, sub-system integration, AV distribution and future trends as well as exploring the right business techniques to keep pace with rapidly evolving opportunities.

From modest beginnings in Harrogate in 1996, when just over 300 attended, CEDIA Expo attracts over 3,000 trade visitors today. Custom installation may have been the preserve of the rich and famous at the time of the first show but a constant drop in the cost of hardware has meant that more consumers can afford to experience the pleasure of a modern, networked home. The result for the show is a move to a bigger, more flexible venue in Birmingham's ICC, more exhibitors and the prospect of many more visitors.

The CEDIA Expo combines a showcase trade exhibition, featuring stands from over 80 leading-edge companies in the sector (already sold out!), a feature room equipped to represent the Ultimate Home Cinema experience and a comprehensive seminar and training programme designed for the widest possible appeal.

Of particular appeal is the Seminar Programme that runs alongside the exhibition. The seminars run throughout the exhibition, kicking off on Tuesday 1st June 2004.

A unique, inspiring and truly collaborative project takes all of Hall 7 where Pulse Marketing presents an Expo first, "The Cinema Lounge". Developed in partnership with leading equipment manufacturers, this integrated, state-of-the-art, interactive installation, complete with a dedicated, fully complementary chill-out area, will open your mind to the latest wonders of home cinema technology. For the full-on, Expo wow factor, check out the ultimate home cinema experience.
