New InFocus ScreenPlay 7205 Is The Ultimate High-Definition
Home Theater Projector (1/4/2004)
InFocus(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:INFS), the worldwide
leader in digital projection technology and services, today announced
that the InFocus ScreenPlay(TM)7205, the newest home theater projector
to bring high-definition image quality to the custom and install
market, is available for purchase. The ScreenPlay 7205 continues
the InFocus commitment to provide the custom installation channel
and the informed enthusiast with a family of products that deliver
the best in theater-quality performance.
The ScreenPlay 7205 is built on the award-winning
platform of the InFocus ScreenPlay 7200, which was voted Video Product
of the Year by CEDIA in 2002, and is a best seller in the U.S. according
to Home Theater Research Group. The ScreenPlay 7205 boasts improved
performance and enhanced features that make it the premier choice
for consumers looking for a high-quality home theater. With improved
contrast ratio, enhanced zoom lens and the latest video processing
technology, the ScreenPlay 7205 delivers amazing image quality for
less than $9,000.
"The ScreenPlay 7205 is the latest example
of how InFocus continues to exceed expectations for home theater
projection by delivering outstanding video projection performance
without compromise," said Candace Petersen, Vice President, Corporate
Marketing and Strategy at InFocus. "The ScreenPlay 7205 is proof
positive of our dedication to provide what both the custom channel
partners and home theater aficionados want: the finest projector
performance for the money."
With the new "Mustang" HD2+ DLP(R) technology
from Texas Instruments(R), the ScreenPlay 7205 has increased brightness
and contrast enabling a clearer, sharper image. To achieve the truest,
most accurate color, the ScreenPlay 7205 has a custom-designed,
seven-segment 5x color wheel that provides more bit depth for smoother
images and comes calibrated to the D65 color mastering standards
used by Hollywood, for out-of-the-box image perfection.
Committed to delivering the absolute best
products, the ScreenPlay 7205 comes with enhanced Faroudja DCDi,
the FLI2310. This chip improves the movie theater experience of
front projection with a new 3:2 to 2:2 pull down conversion circuit,
and a 48Hz film mode which will display DVD film material at 48
Hz, the same refresh rate as film projectors, eliminating the uneven
image stuttering seen with NTSC video. Rounding out the new features
is the addition of a new, all glass zoom lens designed by Carl Zeiss.
For increased installation flexibility, the 72mm standard filter
thread can be used for color filtering applications or neutral density,
allowing the use of smaller screen sizes if necessary.
The ScreenPlay 7205 is designed to suit the
needs of home theater owners or installers who value video performance
and crave an impressive display using the latest technology.
The ScreenPlay 7205 will be available in
Q2 at the estimated price of $8,999 USD.
