Lutron Introduces New Bang & Olufsen Keypads for HomeWorks Lighting Control System (30/3/2004)

Lutron Electronics, the world's leading manufacturer of lighting controls, in collaboration with Danish audio-visual specialist Bang & Olufsen, has launched a new range of Bang & Olufsen keypads designed to integrate with both Lutron's award-winning HomeWorks residential lighting control system and B&O's AV equipment.

Lutron's partnership with Bang & Olufsen demonstrates both companies commitment to providing consumers with products that are as integrated as possible to fit perfectly into their lifestyle.

Lutron's new HomeWorks B&O keypads allow convenient control of HomeWorks lighting and B&O entertainment systems from a B&O Beo4 remote control, allowing the lights to be raised and lowered, preset scenes to be selected and shades and blinds to be controlled.

John Niebel, Lutron's UK sales director for Residential Systems, says: "The HomeWorks Bang & Olufsen keypads offer existing B&O and Lutron customers a great opportunity to integrate their equipment with equivalent audio-visual or lighting control systems. For homeowners looking to add home entertainment and lighting control systems to their home, this is the perfect solution - controlling both systems from one handset makes operation far more convenient for users."

The new keypads are available in three different finishes, white, black and satin nickel and complement the B&O design, incorporating the classic B&O button colours, red, green, yellow and blue, with each colour used to select preset lighting scenes. As an extra individual touch, custom engraving can be specified for the faceplate adjacent to the coloured buttons on a four-button keypad for recalling four favourite lighting scenes, for example, movies, entertaining, dining and relaxing. The new keypads are available from March 2004, from selected Bang & Olufsen stores nationwide, and from Lutron EA Ltd.

The Lutron HomeWorks B&O keypads join Lutron's GRAFIK Eye B&O series lighting control system, a product of a previous collaboration between the two leading manufacturers. The B&O GRAFIK Eye system, GBO, also incorporates the four B&O signature colours for easy operation and control of the preset lighting scenes, up to 16 of which can be stored and recalled at the touch of a button*. As with the new HomeWorks keypads, the GRAFIK GBO system can also be operated from the B&O Beo4 remote control.

* Eight scene keypads are also available in all finishes.
