Phase Technology Upgrades Rectangular In-Walls with QuickMount System (16/3/2004)

Phase Technology, American manufacturer of premium home entertainment speakers, is boosting support for custom audio system installers by releasing the next series of rectangular in-wall speakers in its Custom Installation Series. The Series VII in-walls upgrade Phase Technology's Universal Frame and Grille System, and offer the fastest and easiest mounting speaker ever, using new QuickMount(tm) baffles. With QuickMount's flip-latch locking mechanisms installers never have to worry about screws again, saving time and work attaching speakers to wall flanges. With the introduction of Series VII in late May/early June, each rectangular in-wall baffle will be QuickMount-equipped.

"In addition to stunning sound that rivals high-end speakers, we designed our Custom Installation series in direct response to the installation challenges designers face in creating an impressive in-wall home theater," said Roberta Lewis, vice president of sales and marketing at Phase Technology. "With QuickMount, custom installers won't have to balance on a ladder--screws in one hand, and a speaker in the other--to get perfect home theater sound. The new design makes both initial installations and future upgrades as easy as snapping shut a briefcase. And to maintain the value of our universal frame compatibility, every Series VII rectangular speaker will be backward compatible with our existing wall flanges."

CI-Series VII QuickMount baffles are equipped with four corner flip latches that swivel laterally to secure speakers in a wall-mounted Series VII flange. The baffles are also backward compatible, fitting into previous CI Series VI flanges. At the same time, Series VII flanges accommodate CI Series VI baffles, and even the coming CI-70. This largest rectangular in-wall from Phase Technology boasts a powerful 7" woofer, as well as a 1.5" soft-dome midrange and 1" soft-dome, variable-axis tweeter--both adapted from the flagship PC.9.1 floorstanding speaker.

Phase Technology plans on upgrading Custom Installation Series round speaker baffles with QuickMount(tm) in late third quarter of 2004. Mounting system upgrades will not affect performance or price of any CI-Series speaker.
