Loewe takes CTV to the next level - Articos and Aconda set new standards (2/3/2004)

High Definition picture technology - screen images have never looked better

Further enhancing the superior picture quality of CTV technology, Loewe now incorporates High-Definition picture tubes in its high-end CRT sets.

Loewe now offers consumers three very different solutions in the small format LCD sector - Spheros 20, Xelos SL20 and Mimo 15 - with Mimo 20 to follow shortly.

Xelos SL20

The first and smallest model in the brand new Xelos SL family - Xelos SL20 is incredibly versatile, combining 20" flat screen technology with eye-catching design to complement any living environment.

The Xelos SL20 ensures excellent image quality with Diagonal Contour Control (DCC), which displays diagonal picture movements without annoying step effects. The artificial shadowing associated with light/dark signals is eliminated with new Loewe's Aconda 9381 and Aconda 9281 widescreen televisions now feature the new HD technology, which precisely analyses and optimises each individual picture according to its specific nature - from fast paced car chases to scenic landscapes. Each subject is displayed without distortion, using ideal contrast and maximum depth of focus to the very edge of the screen.

Hard Disc Recording - TV the way you want

2004 also sees the launch of the Hard Disc Recorder, now integrated within the Articos 32 and Aconda 9381.

The key benefits of integrated HDR include the removal of peripheral recording products, a simplified 'one touch' recording process and unique time-shift capabilities. Depending on recording quality, the 80Gb HDR can store up to 100 hours of material, and at the highest record-quality (which is far superior to VCR recording) it will store around 40 hours.

Operation couldn't be easier - it's simply a case of pressing the 'rec' button whenever you choose to start recording the programme to the in-built Hard Disc - it's then stored internally for as long as you decide, alternatively, copy it to recordable DVD or VCR for archiving, thereby freeing up Hard Disc space.

The Time-shift function allows the user to pause a programme mid-broadcast and continue watching where they left off without missing a second. Real time programmes can effectively be paused and resumed at the viewer's leisure - the days of the programme schedule are over, from now on it's TV, the way YOU want it.

Great for replaying the crucial goal in the cup final seconds after it hits the back of the net or reliving the cliffhanging moment of a favourite soap opera by simply rewinding the action - and at the touch or a button you can either continue to watch from that point or return to real-time.

The Articos 32 HDR is available in a choice of Platinum and High Gloss Basalt, priced from £2,300. Aconda 9381HD/HDR is available in Platinum and High Gloss Black and retails £1,900.

Each model offers a range of stand and audio solutions to cater for diverse usage and styling requirements. Both are 32", 100Hz, 16:9 displays, incorporating, Loewe's MediaPlus HD technology, full PIP function, Virtual Dolby Surround sound, upgradability for internet access, options for lighting control and other high-end features synonymous with Loewe.
