CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association), the professional body representing the burgeoning home automation industry in the UK, will be taking to the road again in 2004 with its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course aimed at architects, specifiers, developers and other trade professionals.

"Designing Future-Ready Homes" is a customised CPD course which offers the opportunity for members of these professions to gain a comprehensive and clear understanding of the key concepts in home automation technology. It is designed to build awareness of home automation, systems integration and structured wiring solutions amongst architects, specifiers and developers. The course is available as part of four free CPD Roadshows, taking place at various locations around the UK.

CEDIA CPD Roadshow Dates 2004:

- 23rd March - Manchester (Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford)

- 6th April - Belfast (venue tbc)

- 11th May - London (venue tbc)

- 15th June - Edinburgh (venue tbc)

These CPD Roadshows are a unique series of events, allowing architects, specifiers and developers to attend free training courses on up to 11 subject matters, all in one venue. Other subjects included in these roadshows, cover topics, such as, advanced air-conditioning, composite doors and the specification and application of resin flooring.

Stephen Gough, CEDIA UK Chairman comments: "There are marvellous things happening in the home automation industry and we are keen to share these new developments with other professions. By getting involved in the CPD programme, we hope to build awareness of home automation issues amongst architects and others, as the market continues to expand at a dramatic rate."
