JVC Professional provides home theater solution with the DLA-HX1 Projector (13/2/2004)

JVC Professional recently launched the first D-ILA projector to appeal to the home as well the business user, the DLA-SX21. Its success in winning a number of awards and in receiving positive feedback has paved the way for the expansion of JVC's D-ILA projector range.

The DLA-HX1 projector is JVC's latest three-chip D-ILA projector delivering the highest resolution in its class (1400 x 788) with a native 16:9 aspect ratio for a true high definition (HD) home theatre experience.

Using three reflective 1.1-megapixel WXGA-PLUS 16:9 Direct Drive Image Light Amplifier (D-ILA) LCOS chips gives the DLA-HX1 superior colour reproduction, better gradation and smoother images over its single-chip counterparts. Three-chip D-ILA projectors utilise three separate RGB panels inside the unit to continuously produce full-resolution colour images; whereas a single chip projector alternatively displays red, green and blue images and relies on the human brain to integrate them into the colour picture. The DLA-HX1 features superb colour reproduction and is free of flicker and rainbow effects.

Exclusive JVC technologies also provide the DLA-HX1 with both superior colour and truer black reproduction. A unique optical engine and AG circuitry produce rich natural colours with better gradations and intermediate tones for a smooth, lifelike appearance.

D-ILA Chips Make a Better Home Theatre. What makes the HX1 so suitable for home theatre viewing is JVC's unique reflective D-ILA technology which provides tighter, more closely spaced pixels that provide a higher aperture ratio. Since the gaps between pixels are not noticeable, the picture is extremely smooth and offers both film-like resolution and accurate reproduction of natural colours. Unlike transmissive liquid crystal technologies, D-ILA projects cinema-quality images that are free of any visible pixel grid or "screen door effect."

The DVI-D Plug and Play enables digital to digital input with HDCP providing compatibility with advanced digital players.

JVC's Digital Image Scaling Technology (DIST) enhancer provides sophisticated de-interlacing and scaling algorithms for high-resolution reproduction of HDTV or DVD images. In addition to displaying 16:9 pictures the DLA-HX1 offers discreet IR codes and separate on / off remote control commands allowing it to work seamlessly with multi-component control systems.
